Spring breaks, summer vacations, and holiday weekends are more pleasant and peaceful when you know your home is protected. Know if the person stopping by is a neighbor, your pet sitter, or someone suspicious. Or take action the instant you see an unknown vehicle pull into your driveway. All possible thanks to Arlo Intelligence — a set of advanced detection and recognition features powered by AI — making getaways less stressful with instant, detailed notifications. Arlo Intelligence is included with all Arlo Secure plan subscriptions and has capabilities for: - Person Recognition
- Vehicle Recognition
- Animal Detection
- Package Detection
- Advanced Audio Detection (including smoke/CO2 alarms, screams, breaking glass, and dog bark)
- Fire Detection
- Custom Detection (train your camera to recognize events)
Arlo cameras and AI detectionAll Arlo cameras are now capable of processing footage with Arlo Intelligence. If you have an Arlo Secure plan (Arlo Secure Plus or Arlo Secure Premium), you can enable AI notifications in the Arlo app. (At this time, AI notifications are not available without a subscription). With the weather getting warmer and more people spending time out of the house, now is the perfect time to learn how to use Arlo Intelligence so you can check on your home anywhere, including by the pool hundreds of miles away. Person RecognitionAdd faces previously detected by your camera to a list of Recognized People in the Arlo Secure App. Once on the list, your notifications will automatically show their name when detected. Know when loved ones arrived home safely, when your pet sitter or maintenance worker gets there, or if a neighbor is stopping by. Likewise, when a camera detects an unknown face, you’ll be able to take action sooner. To set up Person Recognition, select a Location, under LOCATION AND PLANS in the Arlo app. Then, tap Person Recognition and set the toggle to ON. Important note: Person Recognition is not available in all regions due to local regulations. Vehicle RecognitionSimilar to Person Recognition, vehicles that are detected by your Arlo camera, can be labeled and will then be recognized by the camera. Whether it’s your babysitter’s car, a delivery, or a family member dropping something off, you’ll know right away. It’s also a great way to reduce notification fatigue when you’re enjoying a vacation — only tune in to your live feed when an unknown vehicle pulls into your driveway. To name a Recognized Vehicle, either use photos in your phone’s library or choose from commonly detected vehicles in your camera’s snapshot feed. For both Person and Vehicle Recognition, you can customize your feed to focus on events featuring specific people or vehicles (great for making sure loved ones arrive home okay), or filter events that feature only unknown people and cars. Animal DetectionCheck on your pet during their midday outings and see what wild critters visit your yard at night. Simply toggle on Animal Detection in the Arlo Secure app to get notifications about animals wandering into the Field of View. Arlo Animal Detection will note down all animals within 50 ft of the camera during daylight (25 ft at night), except insects and small rodents. Make sure beloved pets are safe while you’re out enjoying the sunshine and longer days. Package DetectionWaiting for an important delivery? Toggle on Package Detection in the Arlo app, and your camera will recognize when a package as small as a shoebox is being dropped off or picked up by a carrier. Away from home? Know the minute a delivery lands at your front door so you can take action (like asking a family member to bring it in), before the package thieves do. Fire Detection (in testing)Fire Detection is automatically enabled with an Arlo Secure plan. It’s that important. The second flames are detected by your camera, you’ll receive a notification and can request an emergency response with a tap (with Secure Premium) or call 911. Even when you’re miles or countries away from your home, you’ll still be able to take action and protect your belongings. Advanced Audio Detection (in testing)Complete peace of mind when you’re travelling is now possible, because an Arlo camera can detect much more than an unfriendly stranger. Sounds like a smoke / CO2 alarm going off, a gunshot, a scream, glass breaking, or a dog barking can all indicate trouble afoot. Toggle on sounds you’d like to be notified about in the Arlo Secure App. Note that not all Arlo cameras will be able to detect every sound. Custom DetectionAsk your camera to recognize specific events, like a garage door opening or sprinklers being turned on, and set a schedule when you’d like to get notifications (for example, Mon-Fri, 7 am to 6 pm). Know if you left the garage door open or the pool uncovered, or if someone is trying to access your shed because the door is open. |
